Cairns Chapter
Cairns will be headed up by Dr Samantha Horseman and Raiyan Talkhani. Dr Horseman is a globally recognised inventor, entrepreneur, innovation ecosystem developer and activator, which is reflected in her current role with James Cook University in the Founders-in-Residence Portfolios. Raiyan is an AI enthusiast who has contributed to 5 AI projects in two different countries. With his network as a member of JCU’s Founders-in-Residence program, Raiyan is currently working with researchers and local labs towards finding ways in which AI can be implemented in their systems.

Mackay Chapter
Gavan Porter is the Mackay Chapter Director, and is a current sitting member of the Split Spaces Board, a nest for new ideas and innovation, and is running his own business. Gavan is a passionate supporter of small business in North Queensland, and is keen to grow AI/ML activity in his home city.

Bundaberg Chapter

Toowoomba Chapter
In Toowoomba, Chris Mills is leading the AI Hub Chapter along with effective applications of advanced digital technologies to maximise the potential of Queensland businesses through his company Strategenics. You can find out more about the Toowoomba Chapter here.

Townsville Chapter
Townsville will be lead by Dr Dianna Hardy and Kranthi Addanki. Dr Dianna Hardy is a Senior Lecturer and researcher at JCU. Dianna’s research focuses on leveraging ML approaches in industry and community projects. Dr Hardy is highly engaged in the tech startup ecosphere and is a nationally recognised researcher and speaker on using Design Thinking and co-design methods. Kranthi is a Learning Technology Advisory and researcher at JCU. Her research includes a wide range of technologies including AI and ML.

Sunshine Coast Chapter
James Brouard in the Sunshine Coast, has launched multiple startups and steered small businesses across the globe. Now running a successful SASS platform and creative agency, James has been diving deep into the AI scene, with a keen eye on its potential to shape our future.
